CACVT verifies Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) credentials for eligible Colorado RVTs who hold an active specialty certification through a NAVTA-recognized academy*. Once your verification is approved, you may move forward with DORA to obtain your Veterinary Technician Specialist designation in Colorado.

To apply for VTS verification through CACVT, you must: Currently hold an active VTS though a NAVTA-recognized academy, hold an active Colorado RVT with DORA in good standing, and submit the required verification materials.
Be advised, all names between CACVT, DORA, and your VTS academy should match your full legal name.

Once all application requirements have been verified, you will receive a confirmation email with further instructions to move forward with applying for your VTS designation with DORA in this 2-step process.
* Be advised that having a verified VTS is not the same as having a CACVT credential and does not replace having a CACVT credential for DORA registration renewals.
